Melanie Irwin has initiated an ambitious new project that will explore the possibilities of amassing the habitable bubbles of her previous works to create ‘foam’ in a series of large-scale tableaux. The work will draw on ideas from physics and maths, feminism, and the philosophy of Peter Sloterdijk, and will incorporate sculpture, installation, performance and a series of large-scale editioned photographic prints, to be exhibited in 2019.
